Vietnam traffic

I know the old saying that a picture is worth a thousand words, but lately I’ve become obsessed with time-lapse videos of foreign cities. Filmed over a period of several hours, they really capture the hustle and bustle of a place in a way that photos rarely do and seem to put that fire in my belly to want to hit the road and discover new places.

This time-lapse of Ho Chi Minh City by photographer Rob Whitworthfocuses on the traffic in Vietnam’s largest city, giving you a fabulous birds-eye view of the countless motorbikes, cars and boats. I’m not sure how everyone doesn’t end up smashing into one another (especially at about 1 minute 9 seconds into the clip when it seems as if everybody is driving straight towards each other). All I can say is I’m sure glad I don’t have to commute in Vietnam – or worse: cross the street!
